The 2018 Micronesian Games Organizing Committee has announced a partnership with Coca-Cola Beverage Company (Micronesia) and Foremost Foods. The companies are the exclusive non-alcoholic beverage sponsors of the sporting event.
The Micronesian Games will be held Yap July 15-27.
“We are very excited about the sponsorship of Coca-Cola and Foremost,” said Liyon Sulog, CEO of the 2018 Micronesian Games. “Coca-Cola has been a worldwide partner of the International Olympics for many years and, as such, its prominent presence in Yap will recognize the Micro Games as a leading regional sporting event.”
“Our investment in the Micro Games underscores our commitment to Micronesia and the spirit of the Games’ goal of developing sport for the benefit of the people, the nations and the territories of the Micronesian Community,” said Marcos W. Fong, Coca-Cola and Foremost CEO.
Yap will host approximately 1,500 athletes and coaches from Kosrae, Kiribati, Nauru, Chuuk, CNMI, Pohnpei, Guam, Palau and the Marshall Islands for the Micronesian Games, which will feature baseball, basketball, indoor and beach volleyball, va’a canoe, open water swimming, spearfishing, track and field, wrestling, weightlifting, soccer, table tennis and the Micro All-Around.
